Joie Seldon is the founder of Emotion Education™ and an innovator in the field of Emotional Intelligence, offering simple yet profound tools and knowledge that empower men and women to be emotionally savvy and sane.
She also teaches presentation skills to entrepreneurs, drawing upon her training as a Speaking Circle® facilitator and thirty years as a professional actor and highly respected acting teacher in Los Angeles and the Bay Area.
As a performer/director of the L.A. improvisational theater company, ”Synergy Trust,” Joie taught improvisation in Los Angeles for many years, and was a guest teacher at universities throughout California.
She taught stage acting at San Jose Rep and ACT’s Young Conservatory, and film acting at S. F. Acting Academy and at San Francisco’s highly-rated Full Circle Productions, where she developed a popular class called “Accessing Your Emotions” to help students become more truthful actors. Inspired by the impact the class had on her student’s lives, she sought to deepen her understanding of emotions and psychology, and went on to earn a master’s degree in Somatic Counseling Psychology.
She is now an emotion educator and somatic therapist, leading workshops and speaking frequently throughout the Bay Area and is the author of “Emotions: An Owner’s Manual,” an audio workbook. Joie coaches entrepreneurs privately in presentation skills, as well as in her Empowering Women’s Voice class.
Joie is a member of the Screen Actors Guild, the American Federation of Television & Radio Artists, and the California Association of Marriage and Family Therapists.
